World Ocean Day is the opportunity for us to celebrate and consider the wonder of the ocean.
It is also a chance to pause and appreciate what the ocean provides and to remember that each and every one of us has a role to play in ensuring Ocean health.
The Salty Crew started as a movement with the Ocean at heart. Inspired by and highlighting that local crew of surfers, fishermen, friends and family. Hard working, blue collar, watermen who let their actions speak louder than their words and let their time on the water speak for itself. The passion and stoke of these salty souls come from learning and loving this life supported by the sea.
On the occasion of World Ocean day 2022, we've asked our ambassadors to describe their special relationship with the Ocean.
«The ocean has brought me everything in my life. Not only does it remind me of good times and makes me happy.
But it reflects a place where dreams and opportunities are created for myself.»
« It´s quite ironic that being in the ocean, surfing or diving, is entirely free of purpose, yet it´s what feels the most purposeful to me. »
'The ocean is my playground. It fuels the earth and we have to respect that and its power.
It gives me the thrill of pure, raw, power and energy during sport and also the calm, clarity and relaxation when I need to wind down.
This truly adaptable place is a special one. Always take 3 for the sea and collect rubbish if you see any when you are at the beach.
A little help goes a long way if everyone has the same mindset.
The natural beauty of the ocean needs to be preserved for future lovers to enjoy and for nature to thrive.'
It's always a good day when I can get in the water.
Whether it be surfing a glassy wave or looking for a seabass in the Cantabric sea speargun in hand,
the ocean always helped me finding my balance and provided me with a reflect I like seeing myself in.
The ocean is everything to me. It’s where I have my highest highs and my lowest lows, it balances my life and helps me be the best version of myself.
